Zimbabwe’s Web Needs Critical Info Mass

The internet in Zimbabwe is very sparse to say the least. It lacks information. To make the internet effective, we need a critical mass of information.

In the absence of a concerted effort to make the Net worthwhile by a deliberate generation of locally relevant and useful content, Zimbabwe will have to content by being a consumer of information.

There is a need for a concerted effort to generate information to tilt the balance towards more local searches facilitated by the availability of local content.

While there is great talk about the ubiquity of mobile telephones, in my opinion we are building innovations on air. Even if everyone has access to mobile phones, the ultimate question is where is the information that people will be searching for come from unless we start to generate it?
